.rawrrr: roberto cavalli.

i'm on the fence with animal prints. i think women that pull it off are few and far between-however the forever king of animal prints is and will always be italian designer roberto cavalli. below are my favorite three looks from his fall 2011 rtw collection.  i imagine wearing these pieces mixed with my simpler style pallette.

.miu miu.miu miu.miu miu.

i adore the presentation of miu miu's resort 2012 collection-the girl in these looks is from the uptown set mixed with the lower east side vibe....elegant with a cheeky edge.

.mane envy: helena christensen.

for years when ive suddenly want to change up my hairstyle ive referenced miss helena christensen's hair for inspiration. it always looks just the right amount of undone and messy-but still chic and classic.

i have yet to achieve this balance-but maybe one day...

.for a mid century junkie: the fix.

today opened my eyes to an entirely new scene in phoenix, or at least the tiny vintage furniture pocket of it. i have always loved danish and mid century design-i think alot of it has to do with the focus on multi-functional uses its pieces often boast. living in chicago, a design-rich city, i started to collect pieces that have moved to phoenix with me. a half coffee table half planter and a desk chair that has a hidden storage under its seat are both thrills for me-i think its the excitement of having one piece of furniture functioning as both beautiful and efficient.

i was lucky enough today to visit two amazing vintage furniture stores, melrose market and modern manor which were both nice enough to let me document their incredible collections of furniture, art and jewelry. if it wasn't for the scorching 115 degrees out, i might have been to both till close. i will be back to each soon enough and was so happy i got to visit them on today's adventures!

below are some images & links to their locations.

.cinematic perfection: sixteen candles.

john hughes "sixteen candles" is one of my most favorite teen films. it was the original teen movie: awkward girl, good looking unattainable senior, and a nerdy freshman.

with the best ending- jake ryan in a red porsche falling for her...an eighties fairytale ending.

.playtime: kidrobot nyc.

kidrobot, an edgy toy store nestled in soho is one of those stores you walk in and know only works in a thriving metropolis. and they take toys seriously-very very seriously. amongst the five to twenty dollar trinkets are  shiny glass cases of toys ranging in the multi-hundreds to thousands-for the uber toy sophisticate.

nevertheless, a perfect gift for a boyfriend or kid or anywhere in between.

hope you all enjoy and if you get a chance to look through the full collections to let me know what your favorites are!

wardrobe stylist: claudine arnow

meet claudine arnow, a fantastically cool stylist i was lucky enough to shadow and interview last saturday. an fit alum she has a massive resume and was so humble on speaking of her experiences, my only wish is that i had had more time to pick her brain. she spoke vividly on the prep work for a job, how she aligns the director's vision with the clothing, and her true passion for her craft. i am so excited to see the final cut of 'happy and bleeding' and thrilled claudine was able to contribute her expertise eye.

hope you enjoy the images, i will have more in the coming days!
