.push pinned.

my new inspirational board. found at the local thrift shoppe, it is the newest addition to my creative outposts. for me its so much more interesting to find bits of inspiration and to push pin it up, like a living and breathing painting.

things pinned right now: red micro-fringed bag, red jacket, blue 40s page in harpers bazaar (i tend to always love the 40s and up trends), large dangling earrings, katie holmes fringe, gwyneth, and margherita missoni's beauty regimen, and winged earrings.

.the fear and vogue turkey.

And I am a weapon of massive consumption
And its not my fault it's how I'm programmed to function
I'll look at the sun and I'll look in the mirror
I'm on the right track, yeah we're on to a winner

.pyjamas in the desert.

i think its quite fitting my first leap into outfit posting would be in a version of nightwear. i apologize in advance as i ease into the process, it may be a long and awkward one, but please bear with me. these images are taken by a photographer im so excited to work with, Sebastien Trouver, who already has a knack for making my awkward look cool. top by asos and jeans by urban outfitters.

.saturday adventure.

my favourite thing to do on weekends is brunch explorations. the arrogant butcher, in the heart of phoenix, was a welcome departure from our usual north scottsdale haunts. with the food and drink being amazing, the service was also top notch. our two servers checked (and confirmed) our meals preparation was one-hundred percent gluten-free, which is very much appreciated. the ambiance is comfortable and bright, perfect for a saturday. loved it.

.fall has yet to hit.

while its still reaching the 90s in phoenix, every morning it gets just a little bit chillier outside, to the point of wearing a light jacket to the gym. flipping through the celine spring ready to wear this morning this look made me giddy for the upcoming colder months. come to thinking of arizona's colder months, they are like an extended east coast fall, you can wear (almost) all the colder weather trends, without unraveling the scarf, taking off the gloves, and unbuttoning the heavy wool coat.

.holly golightly revisited.

"I am always drawn back to places where I have lived, the houses and their neighborhoods. For instance, there is a brownstone in the East Seventies where, during the early years of the war, I had my first New York apartment. It was one room crowded with attic furniture, a sofa and fat chairs upholstered in that itchy, particular red velvet that one associates with hot days on a tram. The walls were stucco, and a color rather like tobacco-spit. Everywhere, in the bathroom too, there were prints of Roman ruins freckled brown with age. The single window looked out on a fire escape. Even so, my spirits heightened whenever I felt in my pocket the key to this apartment; with all its gloom, it still was a place of my own, the first, and my books were there, and jars of pencils to sharpen, everything I needed, so I felt, to become the writer I wanted to be."

.gold vs silver.

when it comes to jewelery i tend to veer more towards quantity versus quality. sadly i have lost several key pieces to fun nights out so this mantra has actually worked to my benefit on numerous occasions. one treasured piece of mine (and one never to be lost) is the chanel silver necklace gifted to me on my 24th birthday. in looking at all of my jewelry i definitely purchase more gold, warmer metals, i think because they compliment my skin tone.

i can never turn down a great gold vintage piece.

which metal do you choose?

.sleep, walk, repeat.

at 5:30 am this morning i dragged myself out of bed for spin class. a new form of torture i put my body through, i often walk in half asleep thinking how inexplicably i got there in the first place. with this said, the ongoing trend is pajama dressing, which naturally ive become a huge fan of. being able to walk out of the house in a silk pajama shirt? sign me up. lazy silk trousers with high heels for dinner and drinks? right up my alley.

see below for inspiration from dolce gabbana and stella mccartney.

.the favourite.

below is my all-time favourite jacket that seems to make every outfit i own just a tidbit cooler. its by proenza schouler for targets capsule collection and i believe i bought it for twelve dollars. its always funny when i think on the pieces in my closet that have stood the test of time.

proenza schouler for target jacket, gold vintage necklace, aj morgan sunglasses.

any pieces like this in your closet? would love to hear about them!

.classic pump training.

ive become lazy as a lady. i looked around the closet this weekend to see that i no longer have a version of the pump anywhere in sight. all platforms. i didn't like it...in conversation i admit to liking the chunkier heel option as i never felt like i could topple in them, a type of training wheels that i seem to have become acustomed to. my goal is to reverse this, no true lady only wears sky-high platforms, as i should also be able to confidently walk in the stiletto pump. like any training, i must find a reasonably priced pair before i jump to the full speed, see jimmy choos below.

stay tuned.

.lagerfelds mother and funny hats.

i read an incredibly hilarious m magazine interview with karl lagerfeld as he described his mothers humorous disdain for his choice in hats.

I love hats, in a way, but when I was a child, I’d wear Tyrolean hats, and my mother — I was something like eight — said to me, ‘You shouldn’t wear hats. You look like an old dyke.’ Do you say such things to children? She was quite funny, no?

the reality of this is in style, we all have our 'hats'. mine came in the form of an eighth grade sweater vest i decided to wear on picture day. id post the picture but i think i hid the last few prints of them. below are a couple of hats from alexander mcqueen's spring collection that i think are quite quirky. great for theatre, a little less practical for every day civilian tasks, such as crossing streets.
