a remarkably interesting woman, wife and muse to designer rick owens. her interview and resume is incredible...and inspiring.

'As a friend and longtime employee at her Hollywood hotspot Les Deux Cafés, I have, at various times over the last decade, heard and perpetuated a zillion fantastic tales about Lamy: She's Algerian, a gypsy; she was born in a resistance camp in occupied France, was raised by wolves in the Ardennes; she's an arms dealer, a vampire, a witch, and she's 1600 years old (the number is consistent, as if it were exact, vetted by a team of experts).'

.burberry prorsum, spring 2014.

burberry roughened up the delicate lady look this collection and i absolutely love the outcome. there were several masculine undertones in these pieces which balanced out the soft pastel palette (ie. sheer men's shirts, the oversized trenches, buttoned up cardigans).

being a minimalist by nature it was exciting to see a collection that blended girly and minimal so beautifully.

finds from my favourite thrift shop yesterday. really excited to wear this vintage bag this fall, it's chain falls perfectly when hung from my shoulder and behind it is one of two art prints i'm looking forward to framing.

v-necks are one of the most flattering necklines on woman as it draws attention to the center of the body. zero + maria cornejo's spring collection focused heavily on this shape and the fluidity of lightly sheened fabric, making it look like an incredibly easy collection to throw on for a night out.

happy new york fashion week! the subject for today is layering, and how this basic style technique can be perfected among women of all ages, starting with the age group of my four year old niece. a skirt over a pant paired with a t-shirt, paired with a tank, paired with a great blazer.

.dreams in rothko.

mark rothko's works have been haunting my psyche. he is one of my favorite artists and for the past couple of weeks his paintings have been showing up in my dreams, which i will always happily welcome. today i went to the library and art store to pick up a an abstract painting book, oil pastels, and a canvas-and wallah!, my own rotko.

such a relaxing afternoon project, i recommend everyone to have a go at it.

blue is my other black. it's my choice color to substitute an overall neutral palette. my future home, which i've been mildly obsessing over for some time now, will have pops of royal to electric blue throughout. i found this shirt at h&m and waited and thought and waited....and now its mine.

saturday night, 7pm, the night after a long fun night out partying...i couldn't think of a better thing to do than tuck away in my favourite spot in my local barnes and nobles, to feed my mind with inspiration. i loaded myself down with UK Vogue, CR magazine, Vogue People, Parties, Places, and a plethora of other interior design/style books to study. i mean study literally. i love nothing more than to visually appreciate all aspects of design....the biggest reason i enjoy sharing on my blog.

i had an absolute blast....whoever said you couldn't have fun on a saturday in a bookstore must never have spoken to me.
