.full saturday.

today was a great saturday spent with physical activity, vintage and friends, three of my favourite things in the world. i was able to get a great workout in and then a hike up camelback, where i was able to take a deep breath and recharge. this was followed by a good meal and a trip to my favorite thrift shop where i found these little treasures. below are my finds-a suede maroon clutch, anchor earrings and a silver choker-now out for a drink with friends. hope your all enjoying your saturday as well!

the dannijo line. i like jewelry in summer heat-in lieu of layers its the best way to personalize an outfit. their pieces are so unique-each would look perfect paired with a simple, clean-lined outfit. love love love.

my loving and lovely sister gave me the taschen series, "fashion: a history from the 18th century to the 20th century" for christmas and i haven't been able to put them down since. they are the most beautiful and informative books on fashion and design ive read. each page is filled with notes on designers, their patterns, inspirations and specific techniques - a great escape.

now, which one of these frocks should i wear to work tomorrow??

asos.com - uk based online store. fantastic clothing and incredible pricing.
yesstyle.com - southeast-asian website. great for unique clothing and shoes. warning: runs small.
zara.com - spanish based store. i love the brick and mortar stores. but unfortunately none are near me. this site is perfect for clean-lined and simple pieces.
plndr.com - members only website with amazing deals on my favorite skater/alternative labels (ie. rvca, 80/20 shoes, insight, cheap monday). i would highly, highly recommend this website for great surfer-chic and urban clothing.

below are a few images from the giorgio di sant'angelo exhibit, a famous designer known for his american indian, tribal and bohemian aesthetic. his pieces were remarkable and so fun- i had wished for a moment the museum would transform into a vintage store treasure chest and i could pluck a few pieces for my closet. one can dream....

the newly-departed accessories director of marie claire, taylor tomasi hill has been a focal point for me on the street fashion catwalk for some time. given yes, she is an accessories director and has full access to large closets tucked away in magazine coves, shes got an large advantage over most street stylers, but its the way she puts her ensembles together that is totally rad. below are a few of my favorite looks.

one great perk of being petite is the ability to maximize your favorite stores. one often overlooked section of stores by many women is the children's section. fortunately several of my favorite shops have begun to stock their kid sections with very similar (if not identical) styles that mirror the grown up's sections. and the biggest advantage, it's always less expensive! my favorite things i've had luck with: boy's button downs, blazers & peacoats and sweaters. below are my favorite recent looks in the bite-size section, clothing detail below.

the verdict is still on out if versace for h&m is something that i would/could wear. with that being said, i love the vibrant prints that the house makes and am inspired by the overall aesthetic. for me personally it's a little too loud-i tend to veer more to a neutral palette; but no doubt will be stopping into a store to appreciate all of the happy colors.

that is, if the collection is still in-stock on the off day i visit, apparently the debut day requires queues and wristbands.  no, and thank you.
