oh nostalgia. wildfox brilliantly brought us back to 1995 for their 2013 spring campaign. i absolutely loved this movie, the styling was so over the top, and naturally how i thought all girls dressed in beverly hills when i was younger. it was a perfect barbie-land.

.carven pre-fall 2013.

i had every intention to review several favorite pics from the pre-fall season, until i looked through my photos and realized that the majority of my picks were from carven. i love how structured and voluminous the coats are in each of the looks and how interesting the heel is; it reminds me of the walking heel in french films circa 1972. carven does a phenomenal job of making these pieces look thrown on and comfortable, and that always looks chic.

.the ruffled bunch.

i get ruffled easily. i was telling my boyfriend today that i still wake up frantic occasionally because i've dreamt i am back in college and forgot to attend an entire semester of math class, which results in me praying and hoping my professor and final exam grades do not notice my absence. this is not that kind of ruffle. it all started with the craving to have a ruffle on my next swimsuit bottom, you know, the girly ruffle that outlines the waist and thighs, not the toddler ruffle repeated across the bum. i started to look for what may have been inspiring this and realized ruffles were everywhere on spring 2012's runway. below are a few that i wouldn't mind waking up to

.bedtime story.

my nighttime routine is very typical of most, but fraught with details and rituals signature to me. i wash my face, then brush my teeth, making sure my face is clear and clean of any mascara marks around my eyes with a q-tip and lotion and my teeth are gleaming white. night face cream then eye cream is applied next, dotted then gently patted in. if im being extra diligent i will then brush out my hair, then tie back up into a loose bun for sleep. one melatonin pill and goodnight prayer usually follows in hopes that as soon as i open whatever book i'm on (between william and sonoma dinner parties or one hundred dollar startup at the moment) will put me into a deep sleep.

.2013! and the next...

new years is the best time to think about the beginnings and fresh starts in life you've been waiting and pushing back on. things that you continually 'table' and want to 'revisit' are suddenly top priority to get started. one resolution (albeit, a continuous one) is to expand this blog so it becomes a regularly visited site by like-minded creatives, style-seekers, and dreamers.

here's to 2013 and loves pretty things becoming mine (and yours) favorite blogs to visit, any recommendations are welcome and appreciated!

love this collection derek lam put out for pre-fall. several of the pieces are structured very minimally, but with pops of color that make the outfit really fun and bright.

.holiday stompers.

holiday season equals heavy weekend schedules, sugar cookies, white elephant gifts, tree trimmings, and of course the occasional ugly sweater. what better time is there also in the year than to add a metallic pump to the mix? finally i have found an alternative to the go-to black heel; these kicks i found in the black friday frenzy, amidst a crowd of similar women thinking, what to wear for my upcoming office/friend's/boyfriend's/family holiday party??

these will be making the rounds to several of the above this season.

.metal flowers.

among some of my favourite things to do is to go to my favorite thrift store to jewelery hunt. i found these beautiful gold metal flowers for a dollar on my last visit and i can't wait to show them off. the one drawback to them is that they are clip-on and sit a little high on my ear lobes....i have to figure out a better way to wear them, perhaps on a necklace or bracelet?

.holiday leopard, a style evolution.

what better way to start a monday morning off than to think about next weekend's outings and what newbies in the wardrobe will be showcased? not much i don't think. so please see exhibit A below. my closet has never been a huge animal print supporter, something about the busy-ness of the print made me weary of it, even in small doses. this top however, made me change my spots, o lala! found this treasure while flipping through the pixie market website here. i think it's the mix of the valentino frill with the dolce & gabbana rawrrrr. and i'm still thinking about the slippers from the target x neinman marcus collection found here.

it seems you cannot flip through any fashion magazine without seeing the beautiful joan smalls, the puerto rican supermodel. i as a filipino-american, get mistaken for several different ethnicities, which i adore; i love the idea that my looks cannot be pin-pointed to just one country or origin. seeing emerging models of different ethnicity's coming to the forefront of fashion is always so inspiring, it makes me happy see diversity mixed with great style.

.funk-tional and weekend plans.

tonight i paired my trampoline with two pairs of kicks, both with completely different adventures in mind. to the left, bianca, is ready for a festive holiday party, which would include dinner, drinks and dancing....so fun and sparkly. to the right, hudson, is ready for a relaxing brunch, followed by window shopping and hiding in its favourite nook in barnes and nobles....perfect for a saturday afternoon.

.its show time!.

i'm baaaaccckkk!! it's been a nice hiatus from the lpt blog, but the quiet bliss must come to an end, and i'm ready to contribute again....it's nice to see people have been stopping by to check up though! so to kick off my return, i thought i'd share one of my guilt pleasures of being a girl.

since my teens ive gotten uber-excited for the annual victoria secret show. it's fun, silly, energetic, and frilly.....perfect to get you in the holiday spirit, yay!!

.a red-heeled conundrum.

for a upcoming event i had decided to keep a look out for a pair of red pumps. my vision was to put together a primary color look blue, red and green, each hue represented on one piece of my outfit. seeing that i dont have a green shoe, nor have i ever wanted to, the thought of finding a great red pump intrigued me. this however came to a halting stop this afternoon, and might indefinitely until i can answer this question: might i look like a hooker in these? i tried on every type i could find, high heel, platform, mary jane, mid-heel with a bow....and all i could think of was the pretty woman sequence.

so until i find a pair that rids me of this feeling, the search is firmly on hold.

.fall break.

it seems appropriate with the time changes, turning seasons, and the anticipation of colder weather that i am craving rest. snooze, nap, rem, hibernate, count sheep, shut-eye, the whole bit. with this said since i'm terrible at sitting still, its made me take a break from other daily activities, such as blogging.

so while i get a little rest-eye, i'll leave you with a fitting image....i'll be back in a few days, refreshed and ready to contribute again.

my new inspirational board. found at the local thrift shoppe, it is the newest addition to my creative outposts. for me its so much more interesting to find bits of inspiration and to push pin it up, like a living and breathing painting.
